Please note our transition plan for four-day instruction

TownHall2-16-21.pdf

As we move closer to five-day instruction for all students, please read this gradual plan for middle school students that involves a four-day-week transition to begin Monday, March 1st and another transition Monday, March 22nd. Details for both are explained here:

Lancaster County School District will provide middle school students four days of continuous instruction. This gradual transition gives middle school students an opportunity to connect with their teachers each day by logging into their classrooms for four consecutive days. The consecutive four-day-model will allow teachers to reinforce concepts taught, assist students with any academic gaps and offer enrichment.

Starting March 1st, middle school students will remain in their track A/C and B/D cohorts, but they will all log-in virtually on their at-home days and follow their daily schedules Monday-Thursday. This transition will allow middle schools to determine connectivity issues for our hybrid students and to give all students four days of continuous instruction. Teachers will provide students and parents with information on how to obtain the consecutive four-day-learning links.

All parents should complete the survey below before March 1st.

Then on March 22nd, all hybrid students (tracks A and B) will attend classes all four days of school and virtual students (track C and D) will continue logging on to attend virtual classes. Friday will remain our Grow Day.

As we continue to maneuver through this year like no other, we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Together as a team, we will continue to focus on the success of our middle school students and staff.

These responses will be used to determine hybrid students that need internet access, so a hotspot can be assigned prior to March 1. The responses will also contain parent email addresses to create parental PowerSchool accounts.
