Strong leadership is the foundation of student success. Today, LCSD is proud to formally announce our new administrative appointments for the upcoming school year.
Adam Porter has been named Executive Director of Student Services. Mr. Porter joined the Lancaster County School District in 2022. After beginning his career as a Health and Physical Education teacher, Mr. Porter worked as a Special Education Supervisor and assistant principal in New York and South Carolina. As an Instructional Specialist in Student Services, he provided district-wide leadership for student services.
Dr. Marcus Porter has been named Principal of South Middle School. Dr. Porter joined Lancaster County School District in 2019. Following seven years as a Social Studies teacher, Dr. Porter entered administrative roles at Lancaster High School followed by Indian Land High School as an assistant principal. Currently he serves as an Instructional Specialist in the Academics department leading the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.
Marilyn Monteith has been named Principal of Indian Land Middle School. Ms. Monteith joined Lancaster County School District in 2024. She began her career in education as a teacher in Kannapolis City Schools and shifted into administration as an assistant principal in Rowan-Salisbury Schools, Cuthbertson High School, and most recently Indian Land High School.
