Last Wednesday of the month is here! Thank you all for participating with us as we dress up and dress out in all of our favorites. This might be the best one yet: let's see your FAVORITE OUTFIT tomorrow!!

Join us for Community Forums this spring. #AllIn #OneLancaster

🎶❄️Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!❄️🎶
Alright, wrong holiday. But someone’s call to Elsa clearly went through this winter! And lucky for our Warriors, teachers let them go outside to enjoy the snowflakes! Check out our Facebook page for dozens more photos!

ALL Lancaster County schools, buildings, and facilities will be on a two-hour delay on Thursday, February 20, 2025 due to the potential of hazardous conditions and possible black ice. We are continuing to monitor the weather, and we will provide updated alerts if there are any changes.

TOMORROW: Hey Warriors, we can't wait to see you rep your favorite MERCH! Have a favorite team? Favorite artist or movie? Maybe you're a MASSIVE Disney or Universal fan. Bust out whatever merch you got and show your pride! (Maybe that means an ILIS shirt?! )
See you tomorrow, Warriors!

We’re still feeling the excitement from Thursday’s celebrations! Our staff enjoyed delicious cookies from Sugary Smiles Cookies (check her out on Facebook!), and we kept the energy going during our Professional Development Day on Monday.
We kicked off the day with a Blind Date Breakfast, where staff members sat with colleagues from different teams—including 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, SPED, Encores, and Support Staff. With 127 staff members, it’s easy to stick with familiar faces, so this was a great way to mix things up and build connections across the building.
After breakfast, Ms. Gorrell and Ms. Morrison led an engaging and productive workshop to keep us growing and improving.
We’re recharged and ready for the week ahead! Enjoy the rest of your day, and we’ll see your students bright and early tomorrow!

All schools and offices will be closed February 14, 2025.

Please help us congratulate the following students for being selected as "Band Ambassadors" for the Spring 2025 Semester!
Arjun Rajkamal, Reggie Wingfield, Phoebe Moore, Brenna Bristley, Anna Bondarenko, Preston Trinh, London Penree, Caden Lickteig, Carson Galbraith, James Gibbs, Isabella Devore and Kailah Wren
Ms Riddle writes, "This role will include helping to promote concerts and fundraisers, organize presentations and speak to 4th grade students about joining band, assisting each grade with their performances and concerts, and being a representative of the Indian Land Intermediate School Warrior Band. These students, and many others, show so much dedication in and outside of the band room everyday. We are grateful to have such talented and committed leaders in this band program. Congratulations!"
Congratulations, indeed, Warriors! You guys are amazing!

Familes: Due to the short week, there will be no ice cream sales. We previously announced sales would be Thursday, however they will no longer be happening. Thank you!

We had so much fun last Wednesday! Tomorrow, break out your favorite COLOR!

Today our Media Center hosted an event where students who read at least three books from the Junior and Children’s Book Award nominees were invited to cast their vote for their favorite! Their selection will be submitted to the state, and schools across South Carolina will decide the best book of the year!
To celebrate these kids who dedicated time and energy to this process, Ms. Harris, Ms. Pangle and Ms. Sebree had a popcorn bar and S’mores station. 😊 Bellies were full, Kidz Bop was bumping, and voting was complete!
Great Party, Warriors!

We have more submissions for our Warrior in the Wild program! It's amazing to see what is being accomplished by our students outside of these halls. They are incredibly inspriational. Scroll through to learn more about Madison, Logan, Brynn and Rohan!

Bust out your pinks, your mauves, your rose, your cotton candy, etc.! We're going out to our 4 day weekend in style with a PINK OUT of Thursday 2/13! And don't forget- favorite color this Wednesday!

Ms. White's 5th Grade classes are working on a project for Black History Month! She writes: "This week my ELA classes have spent a lot of time in the media center with Ms. Harris. We’ve been working on paraphrasing information, researching a famous African American (past or present) on a SC Discus database, and using Noodletools for note taking. We will put all of our information together to create a digital presentation with all the important information we’ve found. The students have worked so hard this week, and I’m excited to see their final project!"
We are so proud of your students and their incredible work, Ms. White! 💙

To our families who have children in 8th-12th grades, we would love to introduce you to the "TIES" program!
Ms. Bergren from ILHS writes, "Through the TIES program, we will recruit student volunteers, grades 8 through 12, to support students ages 8 through 21 with diverse needs in any offered extracurricular, school-related, or ongoing activities through LCSD or Lancaster County Parks and Rec. such as sports or scouts.
Our student volunteers will be trained and supported by our TIES Coordinator, Mrs. Massie, ILES Special Education Teacher.
Our TIES program website can be found here: https://sites.google.com/lcsd.k12.sc.us/ties/home
You can also check out the origin of the program here: https://starbridgeinc.org/ties/
We have also created a support and resource page for parents on Facebook - the group name is 'Indian Land/Lancaster Special Needs Parents'."

Ms. Shirhall makes math fun and engaging in her 5th grade classes! She writes:"You’re never too old to enjoy play-doh! On Tuesday we kicked off our unit on dividing fractions by having students use play-doh to solve a real world problem!
It was great seeing students use creative thinking to work this problem out. They didn’t even know they were doing math😉"
We love this, Ms. Shirhall! Thank you for sharing!
