Yesterday we had Yoga Bill BACK! He comes every Wednesday to lead the students through a yoga class before school starts. Yoga Bill is such a wonderful addition to the ILIS halls, and we're grateful he volunteers his time to be with our students. We love you, Yoga Bill! :)

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We want to emphasize the importance of keeping your child home from school, if they are experiencing symptoms of illness. Schools are seeing an increase in cases of flu and stomach viruses. If you are unsure if you should send your child to school, please contact the school nurse for guidance. If your child becomes ill during the school day, we will contact you to pick them up. Schools must have current, up-to-date contact information on file for your student.
Please do not send your child to school if he/she is experiencing:
- Fever
-Chills, body aches,
-Cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, headache and /or muscle aches,
-Vomiting and/or diarrhea
Your child may return to school once:
-he/she is fever-free for 24 hours without use of a fever-reducing medication and
- is well enough for routine activities and
- all exclusion criteria have resolved
- he/she must stay home from school for at least 24 hours after the last episode of
vomiting and/or diarrhea before returning to school
* If you are unsure if you should send your child to school, please contact the school nurse for guidance.
To help prevent the spread of illness:
-Stay home if you are sick
-Encourage frequent handwashing. Teach children to wash hands for at least 20 seconds
with soap and water. Alcohol based hand sanitizers are an alternative when soap and
water are not available, but not as good as hand washing.
-Cover coughs and sneezes. Teach children to cough/sneeze into their inner elbow or a
tissue. Always wash hands after coughing or sneezing.
If you have any further questions, please call or email me:

These images show you what any given morning looks like in the media center: full of students, their laughter and joy. You’ve seen us say it before, but we truly feel the heart of our campus is the Media Center. 💙 Often touted as students’ favorite place in the building, Ms. Harris, Ms. Pangle and Ms. Sebree work every day to make this a space where the children can have fun AND learn in an exciting environment. The Media Center hosts seasonal events like “Blind Date with a Book” (as pictured here), supplies usual favorites like the board games and corn hole, and they are open almost every morning and lunch to welcome students to let off some energy and have a mental break. Of course, they also teach lessons to classes and help students learn vital skills. Just last week they were teaching students how to conduct research!
We are so proud of our Media Center and the amazing group of women who are behind its success. Be sure to ask your kids what their favorite part of the Media Center is!

Don't forget- tomorrow is our first "February Favorite!" Wear your favorite cozy bottoms. :)

While Ms. Day’s students were on eLearning, she gave them a great assignment! She writes, “Students’ eLearning Social Studies project was to create a shanty out of recyclable materials from their house to put together in the classroom making a Great Depression Hooverville!”
You might be asking, “What’a Hooverville?” A Hooverville was a shantytown built by homeless people during the Great Depression. The term described makeshift dwellings that were constructed in cities across the United States!
(Insert: 🌈💫The More You Know💫🌈 gif!)
Thanks for sharing, Ms. Day!

Our students love dress up days, but sometimesit's a lot to manage for parents. We thought it would be fun to implement an EASY dress up theme: "February Favorites"! Each Wednesday in February we are asking to you grab something you already have in your closet that fits the theme! No shopping required, no crazy planning ahead.
Join us for February Favorites!

With the temperature forecasted to be almost 70° today, it might be hard to remember just how cold it was a few weeks ago!
Last Tuesday, Ms. Hardens class was enjoying some games for indoor recess! Our students have indoor recess during extreme heat or cold, and thankfully we have wonderful educators like Ms. Harden who help make it fun!
Stay...cool today? It's still January, right?!

Reminder to our Families:

🎶🫧Bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish, how many pieces do you wish?🫧🎶
Who remembers this recess game?! Ms. Malletts class was playing while enjoying this absolutely gorgeous weather!!

Hi Warrior Families! Check out Mrs. Roberts 5th grade science experiment! They are learning all about solvents, solute, mixtures.
